I am a literary and performance scholar, EFL teacher, and poet based in Vienna, Austria.

I completed my MA degree in English, Psychology and Philosophy in the Teacher Education program in 2019 at the University of Vienna.

Since 2021, I have been a doctoral researcher with the ERC/FWF project “Poetry Off the Page: Literary History and the Spoken Word, 1965-2020.”

My research investigates spoken word poetry in Ireland. My work explores voice and place in the Irish context, focusing on the intersections of poetry, performance, and contemporary socio-political issues in 21st century Ireland.

Over the past years, I have undertaken multiple research stays in Ireland, have visited archives and interviewed forty poets and organizers as part of my research. These interviews will be made publicly available via the National Library of Ireland.

I am a network editor for H-Poetry-Performance, which is a global network for poetry performance scholars, which fosters collaboration and exchange and pools resources on this emerging field of scholarship. I am a co-editor on the Poetry Off the Page Project Bibliography, which collates theoretical and methodological work on poetry performance, as well as resources for the study of poetry performance in the UK and Ireland.

As an educator and EFL teacher, I have taught independently, in private institutions and in secondary schools in Vienna, Austria for multiple years. I have also taught about the use of spoken word poetry in the EFL classroom and created a teaching resource together with student teachers at the University of Vienna. As a trainer for play pedagogy, I have been working with children since 2013, primarily through the Verein Freispiel (previously FREIRAUM).

I am also a poet and occasional host of poetry events. My work has been published with UCD’s Literary Society magazine Caveat Lector and in the University of Vienna’s Uni-Verse Creative Writing Society’s anthologies.
